【 酒場 奏 | 與那覇直 】
「常に変化を起こすことで楽しむ」
集まりの一次会で話しが盛り上がり、二軒目を探して歩くと、思わず通り過ぎてしまいそうな一軒がある。
緑のドアの奥には大きなバーカウンターと柔らかな照明。
そして落ち着いたトーンで迎えてくれる店主の存在が、訪れる人を安心させてくれる『酒場 奏』だ。
店内の空気を読みながら、緩急をつけてBGMを選曲する店主のすなおさん。
2010年にオープンしたこの店名には、所有していたターンテーブルやレコードを組み合わせ、音楽が流すバーのイメージを込めて「奏」と名付けた思いがある。
東京時代に酒屋でアルバイトをした経験から多様なお酒に触れ、宮古島にもたくさんあるバーでなく、「焼酎バー」としてスタートした。
とはいえ飽き性が勝り、次第にお店のスタイルを柔軟に変化させていくようになった。

『酒場 奏』の魅力は、常に変化を続けていること。
ときには店主自らトライアスロンに挑戦し、その縁でトライアスリート同士のお客さんが集まるなど、独自の広がりも見せる。
「ノリで始めた店だから、長年こうして続けられていることが自分でも不思議」と振り返るすなおさん。
インタビューの終盤には、次なる変化を楽しみに模索する姿があった。

天気がよくて潮が少しひいた頃合いがとてもきれい。ときには干潮のタイミングも計りお店のゲストへ提案する。

“Finding Joy in Constant Change”
After the first round of drinks with friends, when the night is still young and conversation is flowing, you might stroll down a quiet street looking for a second stop — and almost miss this unassuming doorway.
Step through the green door, and you’ll find a spacious bar counter bathed in soft, warm light.
It’s here that the calm, grounded presence of the owner, Sunao Yonaha, welcomes guests into the relaxed atmosphere of Sakaba SOU
Reading the mood of the room, Yonaha selects background music with just the right tempo — alternating between calm and rhythm.
The bar opened in 2010, and its name, Kanade (“to play music”), reflects his love for sound — inspired by the turntables and records he once owned, and the image of a bar where music naturally flows.
During his time in Tokyo, he worked part-time at a liquor store, where he was exposed to a wide variety of drinks.
When he returned to Miyakojima, he wanted to create something different from the many bars already on the island — and so SOU began as a shōchū bar.
But Sunao-san admits with a laugh that he tends to get bored easily. Over time, the style of the bar evolved — flexibly, organically — in response to new inspirations and encounters.T
he charm of Sakaba SOU lies in its constant evolution.
At times, Yonaha himself takes on challenges — even competing in triathlons — and through these experiences, his circle of triathlete friends and customers has grown.
“I started this place on a whim,” he says with a smile.
“Even now, it still feels strange to me that it’s lasted this long.”
As our conversation draws to a close, Yonaha’s eyes light up with quiet anticipation — already thinking about what the next change might bring.

If you could pick one book from your bookshelf, which would it be?
> Coin Locker Babies (1980) by Ryū Murakami.
It was the book that first got me into reading back in high school.
I also read Almost Transparent Blue, though I haven’t been reading much lately.
Where is your favorite place?
> Ikema Bridge.
It’s especially beautiful when the weather is clear and the tide is slightly low.
Sometimes I even check the tide schedule so I can recommend the best timing to my guests.
If you had to choose one song that fits your mood right now, what would it be?
> Parfumed Garden – The RAH Band.
I often play it while the bar is open.
What do you always carry with you?
> A hat and a bag — I always have them with me wherever I go.
Do you have any daily routines?
> I take a one-hour walk every day.
What’s a word or concept you recently looked up?
> –
Do you have a method for generating ideas?
> I try to keep my antenna up — to stay open and curious.
If there’s a shop or place that catches my attention, I make a point to visit.
How do you usually express or output those ideas?
> When something comes to mind, I just try it out right away.
Is there anything you do regularly to stay health?
> I make sure to drink plenty of water while keeping my body moving and sweating regularly.
What do you value most in your work?
> Not staying the same — always embracing change.
I want to keep evolving, while enjoying the process myself.
Is there someone you’d like to meet?
> My late grandmother.
I was very close to her — I think she’d give me a good scolding if she saw me now
